About the Event
This 12 hour course will be delivered in six 2-hour increments toward the FL Board requirements to become a Qualified Supervisor as a LCSW, LMFT, or LMHC. If you have 4 years of experience as a LCSW (2 years of which can be earned during a post-master’s clinical internship with the remaining two years of experience earned post-licensure) or 5 years of experience as an LMFT or LMHC (2 years of which can be earned during a post-master’s clinical internship with the remaining three years of experience earned post-licensure), then this course will equip you to supervise. We cover the mandated topics including laws and rules, ethics, diversity considerations, models of supervision, contextual factors, and evaluation and remediation. The course will provide you with editable templates for all documentation and tools for you to use throughout supervision. We hope that by offering this course in smaller increments that more people will able to access this valuable information to gain more competent qualified supervisors in our field.
How it works:
Each week there is a live video call over Zoom with a didactic presentation and time for discussion. At the conclusion of all 6 sessions (12 CE hours), you will receive a certificate and a signed application to send to the Board to register as a qualified supervisor. Your 12 CE hours will be entered in CE Broker at the conclusion of your course.
FAQ:
What if I miss a week?
That's ok. Contact the facilitator and arrange for a make-up session. The make-up session may occur outside the normal hours of the scheduled course or you can wait until that module is offered again in the cycle (5 weeks later).
Do I need to stay on video the whole time?
Yes. In order for the CE to count for the Board, this needs to be a live interactive session with video for the entirety of the session, excluding emergencies. If you have other extenuating circumstances, please feel free to contact us.
Can I eat or do other tasks during the sessions?
Yes, within reason. In order for the CE to count for the Board, we ask for your undivided attention. For safety reasons, we ask that you do not attempt to attend while driving or operating machinery. If you have other tasks that require you to leave the video call, engage in extensive conversations with others, or perform a task that requires your concentration, we ask that you reschedule the session.
If you have other questions, please feel free to contact us at info@thriveflorida.com or by calling (813) 421-9940.
